Ride-hailing and last-mile delivery platform for motorcycles and logistics.
Founded in 2018 by Fahim Saleh, Gokada is a Nigerian mobility startup that started as a ride-hailing platform focused on motorcycles (okadas) before evolving into a logistics and last-mile delivery service. Initially, Gokada provided a safe, affordable, and technology-driven alternative to traditional okada transport, offering an app-based system that allowed customers to hail motorcycle taxis with trained riders. However, in 2020, following a Lagos State government ban on motorcycle ride-hailing services, Gokada was forced to pivot. Instead of shutting down, it reinvented itself as a logistics company offering parcel delivery and last-mile fulfillment services for businesses and e-commerce platforms. Through its G-Delivery service, Gokada enables businesses to send packages across Lagos efficiently, utilizing its fleet of well-trained riders and a user-friendly app for tracking and order management. The company has also expanded into food and grocery delivery services, ensuring that retailers and restaurants can reach their customers seamlessly. Beyond logistics, Gokada has also explored financial services and fleet management, providing riders with asset financing options for motorcycles and delivery vehicles. This strategic pivot has made Gokada a key player in the evolving logistics and delivery space in Nigeria.
